A Day in L.A.

A Day in L.A.

Who doesn't need a vacation these days!? It feels like we're always going-going, like the race never ends, and sometimes we just need a good hearty adventure! Whether you are an out-of-towner or a local to the Greater Los Angeles area, here is a fun & fabulous day in L.A.

MORNING

Chateau Marmont
To get your day in Los Angeles started out right, you're going to head to Chateau Marmont. Nestled up the hill in West Hollywood, this gorgeous vintage hotel is one of the best breakfast spots in L.A. Book a reservation ahead of time, head up stairs, and eat amongst the fabulous (because this place is fabulous.) Reserve a table here.

Greystone Mansion

Since you likely dressed up for your brunch at the Chateau, now is a perfect time to leave your after breakfast glow, and head to the famous Greystone Mansion. Tucked away in a marvelous Beverly Hills neighborhood is this 46,054 square foot, fifty-five bedroom mansion. Wander the estate, take photos (though you'll need a permit if you want a professional photoshoot here.) You may recognize certain parts of the grounds, as this property has been featured in many films, including: Austin Powers, Charlie's Angeles, The Holiday, The Prestige, The Social Network, Star Trek 2, amongst many many others! See her for special events coming up!

AFTERNOON

Grand Central Market
Time to head downtown to one of the most fun, cultured places in Los Angeles: Grand Central Market. This amazing market is home to numerous miniature restaurants of all different kinds of cuisines, tucked in one-after-another. The homemade pasta shop is an all time favorite, though you have to get there before the lunchtime rush, because that freshly made spaghetti goes fast! Check it out here!

Olvera Street
Hopefully you've still got room in your belly because it's time to head to Los Angeles' oldest street in Little Mexico. Buy some novelty Mexican wrestling masks. Try out the sugary-tamarind treats (they are sweet and tangy!) And definitely be sure to try the caramel filled churros at Mr. Churros! To die for. While you lick the sugar off your fingers, you can enjoy some live mariachi music in the courtyard. Find out more here!

EightyTwo Arcade
Time to test out your button smashing skills at this throwback arcade. You'll walk down memory lane with these pinball machines and classic arcade games. Be sure to try out there custom cocktails, included Killswitch and Princess Peach.  Get more info here!

DINNER

Lucques
This is by far my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, and yet it is still one of those hidden gems that a lot of people don't yet know about. This restaurant is certainly fine dining, and is home to some of the best chef's in L.A. With an ever changing menu, reflecting the season's best foods, Lucques is guarantee'd to be one of the best meals you ever have. In case you happen to time it during the Dine LA season, you'll be lucky to try one of their incredibly tasting menus for under $50, which is a steal for this gourmet restaurant (home to many a local celeb.) Make reservations here!

The Groundlings Theatre
Now that you've got your fill of rich and savory, head down Melrose Ave for some of L.A's best comedy at The Groundlings Theatre. Home to your favorite funny people (Will Ferrell, Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy) Groundlings offers shows every night of the week, all of which are outstanding. Want to see L.A's up and coming comedians? Check out their Sunday Company! Want to see the best of the best, including Stephanie Courtney (Flo from those Progressive commercials?) be sure to watch their incredible improv show The Crazy Uncle Joe Show and their main company sketch shows on Friday nights. Get tickets here!

LATE NIGHT

Angel City Brewery
Still looking to have some fun after hours? Check out Angel City Brewery in downtown L.A. This large, unsuspecting warehouse is home to some of the best craft beers in L.A, and you can enjoy said beer while playing a round of corn hole, or shuffle board, or scattergories! Check it out!
