Who doesn't need a vacation these days!? It feels like we're always going-going, like the race never ends, and sometimes we just need a good hearty adventure! Whether you are an out-of-towner or a local to the Greater Los Angeles area, here is a fun & fabulous day in L.A.
Looking for a totally glam holiday outfit, but don't want to wear last year's sparkle dress? I know. Been there, done that. Lucky for you velvet is the new sparkle, and you can show up to this year's holiday parties looking absolutely sheik and completely vintage.
I'm just gonna get right to it. I'm a BIG fan of the Starz show "Outlander." What I love most about the show, aside from the obvious (Jamie & Claire's super hot relationship) is the overall Scottish culture, costumes and decor! I LOVE tartan! Which in America we know as plaid, but Scottish Tartan is the real deal ya'll.
I also love the grey, winter tones that generally permeate Outlander. Thus! It feels like a show of permanent winter! So what better show to let inspire the decor of this year's Christmas party!
After many years of Christmas shopping, I've come to the realization that most people treasure homemade goodies more than the shirt you bought them from Nordstrom (but, I mean, who doesn't love Nordies??) Thus, I've taken to homemade holiday gifts. It takes more time, energy and creativity to make a gift, and most people really appreciate that.
To make your life a little easier, I've spotted my favorite homemade holiday gifts for this year!
Maybe it's 'basic' of me...but I love Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Eggnog Lattes, and Peppermint anything during the holidays. I know for a fact that I am not the only gal obsessed with this PSL crave (cool rebranding, Starbucks.) Sometimes, however, I don't want to be spending 10% of my paycheck on holiday drinks from a coffee corporation (but really, no hate Starbucks, love you.)
So I've been researching this season's yummiest holiday drinks. The ingredients are deliciously festive, and you can make a ton at home and save yourself some change and patience waiting in line during the morning rush (I promise this isn't a smear campaign for Starbucks, lol.)
Oh what's that? The slightest chill in the air? The mildest gust of wind? A sweet, gentle drizzle? Sounds like it is winter in Southern California! Which means it's time to bust out those scarves, beanies and boots! That's right: it's officially sweater weather!
2017 has been a big year of change for me, and there have been an equal amount of successes and setbacks. And as I face the end of 2017, and the dawning of 2018, I get to look forward to some pretty cool, exciting opportunities.
Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. I love the food, the company, and the general feeling I get around this time of year. Being a transplant to Southern California, however, means I don’t always get to spend every Thanksgiving back home with my family. So I’ve learned to enjoy Friendsgiving – Thanksgiving dinner with your urban family (ie: friends.) I’ve been to a few friendsgivings in the past, which can vary from just a potluck dinner, to an entire day full of activities, game and food.
I am so excited about this new release that I decided it was worthy of it's own blog post. My first inspiration for the floral embossed patterned leathers came from the huge presence of embroidery this past year in the fashion industry. Check out this post for some looks and ideas on how to style these new deep brown magical earrings!
If you've been following the buzz about the new Showtime series SMILF tonight is the night to check it out! A few weeks ago actress Kim Crossman (who plays Kit-Cat in the series) turned heads in her red carpet ensemble for the premiere which included a pair of our "Luna" black leather earrings!
As I went online to search for a dainty looking set of pearls, I fell into a wormhole of pearl history and was so excited to share. The history of something as small as the pearl may not seem important, but I think there is something magical about understanding the swirly-white-globes strung around your neck, and just why they're so special. You may just find this snippet of social studies will make you feel a little more empowered when you do wear yours!
It's about that time... all the stores are decorated (although they're ALSO decorated for Thanksgiving...and Christmas...) It's Halloween! One of my all time favorite holidays, mainly because I love any excuse to dress up and get creative fashion wise. I also throw a mean dinner party, and theme parties are pretty my ma' jam.
This year I've decided to embrace my inner nerd and throw a Harry Potter Themed Halloween Party Here's just a few of my favorite witchy themed treats that I am salivating over!
As the weather cools and we sip our hot drinks, life can start to feel pretty dang cozy. Autumn can be a weird time to initiate change. Change is anything except comfortable, and when we’re starting to feel all warm and cozy, why start mixing things up? However, there is no time like the present and nothing symbolizes the boldness of change like the proverbial changing of the seasons!
